You gotta love ‘em, even if they have a bad reputation for stealing other birds’ eggs and generally being nuisances. They’re smart, intrepid, and beautiful. One of my goals while I’m here is to capture the sight of a magpie in flight. So far I have not been successful, but yesterday I managed to press the shutter while this one was sitting on top of my casita, eyeing the bird feeder that is now more difficult (but, alas, not impossible) for magpie dining:
