I can’t tell you how excited I was to find your blog. I have applied to the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation also and I wanted to see if I could find images of what to expect. Your site fulfilled all of that but now I’m addicted to your writings as well. Kudos to you!
Dear Colleen:
It was so good to hear from you and very exciting to learn of your new venture. My house is for sale, and once it goes I’m going to try homelessness for a while. I’ll travel on the cheap (lots of camping and my sister’s condo) and then settle in a small apartment in Roanoke. Just downsizing/prioritizing and it feels good!
Noah and I are going to Port Townsend from March 07-15 to visit Caleb, et al. I’m so excited I can hardly stand it. Because of my father’s illness and death I didn’t get to see them when they returned from SA. We’ve never flown cross-country either, or been to Seattle, besides which it’s Noah’s 30th birthday week! I can’t believe my kids are so old.
I don’t have internet at home, but I go to the library 2-3 times per week and check it when I’m there. I’ll drop a line from time to time…until then keep on enjoying yourself and learning and growing- you do it so well.
love, Sharon
Hello,
I stumbled onto your blog while looking for information about my father. His name was Raphael Boge. I have not scene him in over twenty years. He died on July 16th 2007. I was looking for anything about him and was surprised to find your brief encounter with him; do you remember any more details? My brother, sister and I are flying to NM to see this park this week, we’re from Wisconsin.
Thanks,
Sarah
Time for an update! That was a lovely photo of Charleston you posted last April, but that was your last post! Shirley there’s more!
I stumbled across your blog whilst Googling the title of Sheila Key’s new book, “50 Ways to Leave Your 40s.” I got a note from Sheila yesterday. There are a dwindling number of us at WV Public Radio who remember her … but I still have photos from a little reception we had for Sheila and Rich when they first got married.
It has been a joy to find and read your blog. I got a call from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation yesterday, and I will be spending three lovely months in Taos in the summer of 2010. Your photos, your descriptions – all experiences I cannot wait to enjoy. So much reveling ahead.
